Monday’s and Thursday’s I assist the teacher at Beacon House orphanage in the mornings, then I go to the FOCOS Clinic and assist in whatever they need help with. Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s I go to the Clinic in the mornings and then go to the orphanage in the afternoons for playtime with the kids. On Friday’s the Clinic is closed to patients so depending on how much office work there is determines how long I’ll be there and then I’ll go to the orphanage. I still see the architect occasionally, but his schedule is so busy that we only meet when it happens to work out with our schedules.
After work the first thing I do is throw on my swimsuit and swim laps for about 15-20 minutes. I absolutely love having a pool and the weather has been perfect for it! Then I shower, reply to emails, update my blog if there is something that happened that day that I want to talk about, and usually eat dinner around 6:30pm. After that I usually read for a bit, email some more and then watch Aljazeera at 10pm for my daily news. I’m normally in bed by 10:45pm and I end my night journaling at least one thing I’m thankful for each day. It’s usually more than one, but my goal is to have at least one thing to write about. Then I fall asleep saying my prayers. I wake up at 6:30am each morning and do a Bible study (I’m currently doing one on the Book of James), then I do some yoga, and then have breakfast as I’m writing emails. After that I get ready and head off to work!
That pretty much sums up the day in the life of Ghana for me….
